Das Piratenkind @ Reaktor
Squep's girlfriend spins afterhous at a club in Winterthur, and I tag along again...
This past Saturday, at the very last moment, I tagged along with Squep and his girlfriend, Das Piratenkind who was spinning at Reaktor in Winterthur. She was impressed with my photos from Squep @ Rohstofflager and wanted some of the same for herself. Armed with a new 8GB memory card (but not a new lens or tripod) and my Canon 350D shooting in RAW, I tagged along.
While Reaktor was a much more pleasant venue to photograph in (interesting lighting, more relaxed crowd and security, lots of impromptu camera mounts), my lack of a 'fast' lens was highlighted by Piratenkind's much more energetic style--she was moving all over the place! I really, really need to get that lens. Photographs from the evening are in two seperate albums on my Picasa account: Reaktor - 2009 and Piratenkind @ Reaktor
OMC Progress Bar Update
A more consise regular expression, thanks to the boffins at stackoverflow.com
One little thing about the OnMyCommand progress bar post that had been bothering me was the long, repetitive nature of the regular expression. After much fiddling about I had settled on a 121 characher monster. It worked, but was somewhat inelegant. Not being a regular expressions guru, I posted a question on stackoverflow: Repetition of group patterns in a regex pattern
Within two hours there were viable answers, and within a day the best working answer (at 67 characters, 55% of the original) was in place, supplied by Chas. Owens
Mine:
^\s*([^ ]+)\s+([^ ]+)\s+([^ ]+)\s+([^ ]+)\s+([^ ]+)\s+([^ ]+)\s+([^ ]+)\s+([^ ]+)\s+([^ ]+)\s+([^ ]+)\s+([^ ]+)\s+([^ ]+)
Chas. Owens:
^\s*([^ ]+)\s+([^ ]+)\s+(?:[^ ]+\s+){3}([^ ]+)\s+[^ ]+\s+([^ ]+)\s+
Uploading $3 of $2 ($1%) at $4Bps" as the group identifiers are different. I am pleased.
